Untidy nails and dry heels? This is what our feet usually look like after the cold months, and that's why they need a tune-up now that we'll soon be replacing closed shoes with open ones.

Well... get to work, because 24-hour miracles are not possible when it comes to perfect feet. If you want to have beautiful feet during the summer, you have to take care of them beforehand ;-) That's why, in the article of SOIVRE today we explain everything you need to know to 'save your feet'. before the arrival of the heat, sandals and days at the beach or pool.

Perfect feet: the step-by-step guide to the actions to be taken

  • Do you need a pedicure: professional or do you do it yourself?

If you can, we recommend every two or three months is to visit a specialised pedicure centre. to have your feet pampered and cared for by an expert: massages, removing roughness, removing cuticles, nail polish, etc...

Afterwards, it will be easier for you to do maintenance tasks: nail clipping, filing, hygiene...

  • Care while showering

During the shower all the water is going to rest at your feet. So, once you have removed the soap from your whole body, spend a few minutes just rubbing your feet with a sponge. and then rinse them with plenty of water.

  • Eliminating roughness: cracked and dry heels

Removing dead, hardened and rough skin from heels is very easy if you have the right utensils. The best thing to have in the bathroom is a kit a nail file, nail clippers and a pumice soap, such as our pumice soap 100% natural.

With these utensils, first removes dirt under the nails. Then cut them not too much so that you don't suffer from rubbing against your shoes. Put your feet in a bowl of warm salt water for 3 minutes. Then gently rub the calloused areas with Soivre's pumice soap for one minute. And finally, wash them with a coconut exfoliating gel and make the skin on your feet even softer.

This small ritual once a week will - at the very least - ensure that your feet look beautiful and cared for.

Before going to bed, nothing will relax your feet more than applying a little bit of Soivre Rosehip cream on your feet. Just three minutes of massage - for all the up and down you've given your feet during the day - will make for a more pleasant and restful rest.

  • Against athlete's foot

Fungus appears between the toes when we don't dry our feet properly after a shower. If we wear shoes that do not breathe or insoles that do not absorb moisture, we also create fungus, the most common being athlete's foot.

The best solution to prevent them is to dry our feet well after showering.. And let's use a small towel for that purpose, which should be washed frequently.

If we already have fungus, it is not advisable to self-medicate. The best thing to do is to visit a podiatrist for specific care.

  • Sun protection for your feet

As early as the spring when we start to show our feet, we need to include sun protection only for them. Remember, sunburnt or sun-damaged skin generates premature wrinkles, which we dislike so much!!

Always think of them as a single package: open shoes + sunscreen or sunscreen (UVA/UVB) on feet.

  • No perfect feet if you have pain

Many of us love the graceful movement that heels give us. But beware of their height: ask any orthopaedic expert and they will tell you that very high heels are no good. The heel makes your knees suffer unnecessarily. and your feet receive an overload which then deforms the toes.

Look for shoes that you feel comfortable in, that give you good support (flip-flops are bad for the ankles) and whose material does not hurt your feet.

  • Exercise routine for perfect feet

Also you should exercise your feet :-) For example: sit on a chair, extend one leg horizontally, then do flexions and extensions of the foot only - the movement should start from the ankle. Continue with circles to the right and to the left. Repeat with each leg two or three times.

Now stand up. Spread your legs about 10 centimetres apart. Pay attention to how you support the soles of your feet and feel the ground on your soles. Balance the pressure points. Once you feel well "planted" lift all your toes in unison on both feet. Repeat this movement 10 times.

And finally - if you don't have knee problems - stand on your knees with your toes flat on the floor. The instep is perpendicular to the floor. Sit on your heels. Just two minutes. This is an excellent stretch for your toes. Make sure that all your little toes are supported, even the smallest one.

  • Major problems: claves, bunions and other ailments

Feet are a very punished area of the body and we often don't take enough care of them until the pain starts. So we for major problems always go to a chiropodist and don't delay your visit: remember, health is beauty.
